Hi First Presbyterian Church,
It’s time for our Mid-Week Meet-Up! I have quite a few important upcoming events to highlight in today’s meet-up.
This Sunday is going to be jam-packed, and you won’t want to miss any of it! First, at the 10:00 am service we will be recognizing and blessing some of our graduating seniors who will be heading off to college, and we will be receiving eight people as new members of our congregation. (By the way, did you know that since 2020, we have received a total of 102 new members? Praise God!)
Then, immediately following the 10:00 am service, you are invited to go outside where we will be rededicating our newly renovated memorial garden. A dedicated group of volunteers have been working tirelessly for more than a year to beautify the garden, including the installation of a new columbarium. We will be remembering each of the people whose earthly remains have been interred in the garden and asking for God’s fresh blessing on that sacred space.
Finally, on Sunday at 2:00 pm, each of you is invited to worship at Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church for their final worship service. The Presbytery will lead us in a prayerful time of giving thanks to God for Christ Clarion’s ministry in that space for nearly 60 years before the congregation is officially dissolved. During that service, they will (literally and figuratively) hand the keys of the building over to us. Please join us as we gather with our friends over on Thornell Road.
Looking further ahead into our church calendar, we will be changing to our summer worship schedule of having only one worship service at 9:30 am starting on Sunday, June 28. We will return to worshiping at our regular times of 8:30 am and 10:00 am on Sunday, September 20. Please note, that the change back to two services is happening one Sunday later than usual, because of the intergenerational retreat that is scheduled for Friday, September 11, through Sunday, September 13.
I hope to see you this Sunday for a time of worship, prayer, and community!
Peace,
Aaron
