Dear Members and Friends of First Presbyterian,

We have a clear vision at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford that was adopted several years ago after careful consideration of our members' inputs combined with the definition of our core values by the Vision Team, guiding what we do as a Christian Church, united in Christ.

We are a connected community growing in Christ and, through service, empowering our neighbors to thrive.

The Leadership Team over the summer evaluated the outcome of a second retreat that we had at the end of May. One of the main outcomes of that retreat was the recurring theme of “Accountability and Empowerment,” required by our leaders to continue our vision. Bearing that in mind, the Generosity Team wants to stress sharing the power that all of us must experience together, while also individually taking accountability and empowering ourselves to achieve our Christian mission. At this time, we ask you to prayerfully consider your blessings prior to Consecration Sunday, November 8, when we will ask you to assist in Sharing the Power! You will hear more about the Stewardship Campaign in September and October. We hope that you all have had a great summer.

Your Generosity Team

What do our four ministry categories include?

  • Mission includes our outreach to over 20 local organizations, in addition to the In-Step orphanage in Kenya, disaster relief trips, and missionaries in Asia. We went to Kitale, Kenya with a dental team in January 2026 and will be returning again in 2028. We went to New Bern, North Carolina (adults) in January 2023 and February 2025 (youth and adults) to assist with Hurricane rebuilding. Locally we support Cameron Community Ministries, the Pittsford Food Cupboard, the Backpack Program for local school children, the Trinity Emmanuel Breakfast Cafe, Habitat for Humanity, and many more organizations

  • Worship comprises our leadership for services, our music (including guest musicians and concerts), and special services, such as weddings, funerals, and youth services.

  • Education embraces Sunday school, LOGOS, Bible study, adult enrichment and small groups.

  • Finally, Fellowship incorporates youth activities, deacon events, pastoral visits, fellowship hour after services, meeting and greeting visitors, and member assistance and prayer support. For example, the deacons continue to sponsor monthly fellowship activities including Game Night, Kayaking, Hiking, and Cooking Club. The deacons also plan and run annual events such as the All Church Picnic, Dads & Grads strawberry social on Father's Day, hockey and baseball games.

We hope the ministries budget can help you to better understand how your support affects our church’s mission and that you will consider filling out a Building on What Matters Most pledge card.
