LOGOS at first Presbyterian Church
For 34 years, First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford has been blessed to offer the LOGOS program — a vibrant, Christ-centered midweek ministry for children and families. Rooted in the biblical understanding of Logos — “the Word” — as described in the Gospel of John, our program is designed to nurture faith, build lasting relationships, and create a strong foundation in Christ.
Each Wednesday, children gather for an evening filled with meaningful Bible study, worship skills, recreation, and shared meals in a caring, intergenerational environment. Through consistent relationships with dedicated adult mentors, children experience the love of God in action.
A special and joyful part of our Wednesday LOGOS program is our Children’s Choir. Through music, children learn the gift of worship, grow in confidence, and share their faith with the congregation in a creative and uplifting way.
For over three decades, LOGOS has been a place where faith grows, friendships flourish, and young hearts are shaped by God’s Word. We are grateful to continue this tradition of faith formation here at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford.
The LOGOS program consists of four parts. Each is unique and important in its own way, and without any one part the program loses 50% of its effectiveness.
Bible Study - The Bible comes alive through investigative study and hands-on learning. The curriculum complements participation in Sunday School and is age-appropriate. All age levels follow a yearly theme as everyone discovers what it means to be a child of God.
Worship Skills - Getting kids involved in Sunday worship is the number one goal of worship skills. The Lord is praised through singing and the playing of bells and chimes. Sunday worship regularly features LOGOS children.
Play - Fun is the name of the game at LOGOS. Kids experience all sorts of crazy games and crafts--any game imaginable can be found during this time! Everyone has fun, and nobody is ever a loser.
Dinner - Dinner is served! Each week we share a delicious kid-friendly, family-style meal. Table parents make every meal a special occasion and birthdays are always celebrated.
Here are the details!
LOGOS lasts 24 weeks starting on a wonderful Wednesday in September. Your registration fee includes dinner each Wednesday, a student workbook, music, and all craft and play equipment.
Fees for the full 24 weeks are:
One Child - $100
Two Children - $180
Three Children - $250
Please note that LOGOS is not a babysitting service and parent involvement/volunteering is required!
