Flower City Brass to Make Debut Performance at Pittsford Candlelight Night

A new professional chamber ensemble, Flower City Brass, will make its highly anticipated debut on Tuesday, December 2 at 6:30 PM during the annual Pittsford Candlelight Night, hosted at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford (25 Church Street, Pittsford, NY).

Founded by conductor and trumpeter Jared Chase, Flower City Brass brings together some of the region’s finest brass musicians to present an hour-long celebration of festive music in an elegant, classical brass tradition. The program will feature a mix of joyful holiday selections, carol arrangements, and lyrical seasonal works, designed to highlight the expressive power and vibrant color of a large professional brass ensemble.

“This project grew out of a simple idea,” said Chase. “Rochester has an extraordinary musical community, yet surprisingly, there hasn’t been a signature holiday brass concert here. After experiencing the excitement and warmth of similar programs in other major cities, I felt called to create something new for our own community—something joyful, accessible, and truly unique to the Flower City.”

The evening will also include a free soup supper offered by First Presbyterian Church, as well as complimentary shuttle service to and from parking locations, making it easy for families and community members to enjoy all that Candlelight Night has to offer.

Flower City Brass is envisioned as an annual Candlelight Night tradition, with future plans to expand into additional concert events.

The concert is free and open to the public, and seating is first-come, first-served.
